Compress & convert images

Shrink, resize and convert images to WebP, JPG or PNG in bulk.

  • Runs on your device, nothing uploaded
  • Free, no sign-up, no watermark

Before you start

These tools are free for everyday use. Please only use files you have the right to use, and don’t use them to mislead, harass or harm anyone, for example by changing documents or IDs, or editing photos of people without their consent.

To keep things that way, images are checked on your device for explicit or violent content, and extracted text is checked for threats. The checks run in this tab, so nothing is uploaded.

Drop images here

JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF or BMP, up to 30 MB each and 50 at a time. You can also paste a screenshot.

How to use it

  1. Drop one or more images, or paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V.
  2. Pick an output format, quality and maximum size. Results update as you change them.
  3. Drag the slider on the preview to compare before and after, then download one file or all of them as a ZIP.

Good to know

  • WebP gives the smallest files and works in every modern browser and most apps.
  • JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white.
  • PNG is lossless. Converting a photo to PNG usually makes it bigger.
  • If a result would come out larger than the original in the same format, the original is kept.
  • Photo metadata such as camera details and GPS location is removed from converted images.
  • Each image is checked on your device for explicit or violent content first. The check downloads once (about 90 MB) and then runs offline.
  • HEIC photos from iPhones only open in browsers that support HEIC (Safari does).

Questions

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Your browser decodes and re-encodes the images inside this tab. You can switch off your internet connection after the page loads and the tool still works.

Which format should I choose?

For websites and sharing, choose WebP at around 75–82% quality. Choose JPG when something only accepts JPG, and PNG for screenshots, logos or anything that needs sharp edges or transparency.

Is there a limit on file size or number of images?

Each image can be up to 30 MB, and you can add up to 50 at a time. The limits keep the tool reliable, because everything runs in your device's memory.

Does it remove location data from photos?

Yes. Converted images are redrawn from pixels, so EXIF metadata such as GPS location and camera details is not carried over.
